Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the LocumBook mobile application and website at https://locumbook.accipe.co.uk, operated by Accipe ("we", "us", "our"). By using LocumBook, you agree to these Terms.

1. About LocumBook

LocumBook is a financial tracking application for UK locum doctors. It helps you record sessions, mileage, invoices, and related data. It is not a substitute for professional tax, legal, medical, or accounting advice.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a binding agreement to use LocumBook. You are responsible for ensuring the app is suitable for your professional and tax circumstances.

3. Free and Pro services

LocumBook offers a free tier with core tracking features and an optional Pro subscription with additional features. Feature availability may change; the in-app feature list and our website describe current offerings.

4. Subscriptions and payments

  • Pro subscriptions are purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play, processed by RevenueCat
  • Prices are displayed in the app and may vary by region or platform
  • New subscribers may receive a free trial as described in the app; trial terms are shown at purchase
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
  • Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple or Google account settings — not on this website
  • Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their policies
  • Lifetime purchases, where offered, grant access to Pro features for the lifetime of the product as described at purchase

5. Account and sign-in

Sign-in with Apple or Google is required for Pro subscriptions and optional cloud sync. You are responsible for maintaining access to your identity provider account. We may suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

6. Your data and responsibilities

  • You are responsible for the accuracy of data you enter into LocumBook
  • You are responsible for backing up your data (local backup or optional cloud sync)
  • You must not use the app for unlawful purposes or to store data you are not entitled to hold
  • You must not attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, or misuse the service

7. Intellectual property

LocumBook, its design, code, and content are owned by Accipe or its licensors. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app for personal professional use. You retain ownership of data you enter.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

LocumBook is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for every tax or pension scenario. Calculations and exports are aids only — verify all figures before submitting to HMRC, your accountant, or the NHS Pension scheme.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Accipe shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or tax penalties, arising from your use of LocumBook. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for Pro in the twelve months preceding the claim, or £50 if you use the Free tier.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud.

10. Privacy

Our use of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

11. Changes to the service and Terms

We may update LocumBook or these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

12. Termination

You may stop using LocumBook at any time by uninstalling the app and cancelling any subscription. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or if required by law.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
