Getting started

Download and install

1. Download LocumBook from the App Store or Google Play (links on our homepage).
2. Open the app and follow the onboarding wizard — setup takes about 2 minutes.
3. Most onboarding steps are optional and can be completed later in Settings.

First-time setup

During onboarding you can:

• Set your default tax year (UK tax years run 6 April to 5 April)
• Add your home address for mileage calculations
• Configure NHS pension preferences if you are a GP locum in the scheme
• Connect a Lantum iCal feed (Pro feature — can be skipped)

Log your first session

The fastest way to record a new shift:

1. Tap Add session from the dashboard or Sessions tab.
2. Enter the date, hours, fee, and practice.
3. Add mileage and parking if applicable.
4. Save — your dashboard updates automatically.

Returning users

If you reinstall the app or switch devices:

• Restore a local .lbkbackup file from Settings → Data management
• Sign in and enable cloud sync (Pro) if you previously opted in
• Use Restore purchases to recover your Pro subscription
